AN AREA of stormy weather gathered strength yesterday in the western Atlantic, with the possibility of it developing into a tropical storm. The tropical depression was about 130 miles east of Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands, east of the southern Bahamas.

The disturbance had top winds of 35mph and was expected to strengthen. It will become Tropical Storm Dennis if those winds reach 37mph.
