Ashes 2015: Embarrassed, demolished and humiliated - Australia media react with complete dismay to shocking Fourth Test performance

Australia suffered one of their most embarrassing ever innings in the Fourth Ashes Test today.

With England leading the series 2-1, the tourists knew that defeat was unthinkable if they are to hold any hope of retaining the Ashes.

But after losing the toss and being put in to bat by Alastair Cook, things went horribly wrong.

Chris Rogers and Steve Smith were dismissed in the first over and the rest didn't take long to follow them back to the pavillion at Trent Bridge. David Warner went for a duck in the next over and whilst captain Michael Clarke looked like he might ensure Australia retained some dignity as those around him fell, the skipper went for six.

With England celebrating, particularly Stuart Broad who took eight wickets for just 15 runs, Australia didn't know what to make of it all.

Aussie newspaper The Daily Telegraph were so perplexed by it all, they gave readers a choice of which frontpage headline to pick, the options being: Embarrassed, Demolished or Humiliated. Arguably an 'All of the above' option would have been most fitting.
