Ground staff begin removing 30,000 gallons of water from a sodden outfield to allow play to start on time. Derbyshire, 31-3 overnight, need 88 more runs to deny Warwickshire victory by an innings.

10.41 Uxbridge

Leicestershire declare their first innings on 300-5, 38 runs behind Middlesex. The two captains agree that Middlesex should set Leicestershire a target of 250 in the final two sessions of the day.

11.54 Edgbaston

Derbyshire's final wicket falls on 122, leaving Warwickshire needing only four runs for victory. Knight hits the winning runs 16 minutes later. If Middlesex fail to win at Uxbridge, the title is Warwickshire's.

12.30 Uxbridge

Middlesex declare at lunch on 212-2, setting Leicestershire a target of 251 off a minimum of 60 overs. Middlesex's total includes a century by Ramprakash off 69 deliveries, his eighth in his last 13 innings.

13.46 Uxbridge

Two minutes after Fraser takes the wicket of Wells, Emburey dismisses Maddy to leave Leicestershire on 36-2. After the visitors' promising start, it is now Middlesex who have their first scent of victory.

Tufnell bowls Cronje, who had helped revive Leicestershire fortunes in a partnership of 95 with Whitaker. Tufnell quickly adds the wicket of Smith to leave Leicestershire on 139-4 and the game in the balance.

16.40 Uxbridge

Parsons is bowled by Tufnell to leave Leicestershire on 204-8, 47 runs short of their target. Brimson and Pierson then add 33 runs before Tufnell bowls Brimson. Leicestershire are now 237-9.

17.34 Uxbridge

With nine balls left and Leicestershire's last-wicket pair needing two more runs to win, Emburey catches Mullally off Tufnell to give Middlesex victory and take the title race into the final round of games.
