WYCOMBE WANDERERS beat Wolves 4-2 at Molineux last night to pull off the biggest upset in the first-round ties in the Worthington Cup.

Wolves led 1-0 from the first leg at Adams Park, but suffered a humiliating defeat in front of a 13,723 crowd, who booed Colin Lee's men off at the end. The splendidly-named Jermaine McSporran was the Buckinghamshire side's hero with two goals, after a Kevin Muscat own goal had given them the lead. Keith Ryan headed their fourth goal, while the 17-year-old Colin Larkin and Neil Emblen were on target for Wolves but could not prevent a 4-3 aggregate defeat.

Third Division Leyton Orient knocked out Swindon Town, of the First, 2-1 on aggregate after a late Dean Smith goal earned 1-1 draw at Brisbane Road.
