Ireland must 'go back to work'

Peter O'Mahony has warned his Ireland team-mates that they cannot afford to dwell on the mistakes they made in their 42-10 First Test defeat in Auckland, if they are to front up next weekend in Christchurch.

The debutant winger Julian Savea scored a hat-trick for the All Blacks on Saturday and Ireland had no answer for the pace and power of the world champions' backline.

O'Mahony, 22, on his first Test start at blindside flanker, acquitted himself well, winning two crucial turnovers as New Zealand swarmed forward. But he admitted that the tourists had contributed to their own downfall.

"It was intense and hugely physical," said O'Mahony (pictured). "It was a different pace. The speed of the game was a lot quicker but we did ourselves no favours with the amount of turnovers we gave them. We don't have enough time to beat ourselves up about everything. We go back to work."
