Call of Duty World Tournament adds UK qualifier

The Call of Duty XP Tournament has added UK qualifiers to a schedule that includes upcoming dates in Germany, the USA, and online.

London's Leicester Square is the venue for the UK Championships on August 7, an elimination tournament for 32 teams of 4, using the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The Call of Duty XP website also lists the Gamescom Expo in Cologne, August 18-20, as Germany's qualification venue.

Hopefuls in the USA can snag a tournament code by pre-ordering Modern Warfare 3 at a GameStop store or by logging on to their GameStop PowerUp Rewards profile.

Registering that code at the Call of Duty website and scoring highly on Black Ops' Team Deathmatch, Domination, or Free-For-All between August 6 and 7 could see them through to the XP event.

There are additional online qualifiers running August 5-10 for those participating in the Call of Duty Elite beta test, and a last-chance saloon at COD XP itself on September 2.
